2026 marked our third year of adventures exploring cacao culture and cacao farms in Taiwan.

Back in January 2024, with nothing but curiosity (and a tiny bit of nervousness), we reached out to a few cacao farms in Taiwan and asked if we could visit. While anxiously waiting for their replies, we never imagined how warmly we would be welcomed.

Just like the sunshine in Southern Taiwan, the cacao farmers we met generously opened their farms and hearts to us - showing us how they care for the trees, letting us taste the fresh cacao fruit, and of course, sharing their beautiful tree-to-bar chocolates.

Like little seedling being planted into the soil, an idea slowly began to grow.

Seeing how much time, care, blood, sweat, and heart the farmers pour into maintaining their farms as naturally as possible, while doing their very best to stay resilient through each typhoon season... how could we not want to share their stories with everyone?

"What is our mission? Can we really do this?"

We did not have all the answers back then, and honestly, we are still fine-tuning our direction along the way. But perhaps that is part of the journey too. We are endlessly thankful for every person who offered encouragement, advice, and support throughout this adventure.

So what are we working on during this year's Taiwan trip? Besides visiting our dearest friends at Meya Farm in Pingtung and Sweet Chocolate Factory in Nantou, stay tuned!
